Russia buys gasoline and jet fuel from India as Ukrainian drones bite

One of the world’s largest oil producers is preparing to import jet fuel, and Ukrainian drone strikes on its refineries have forced Russia to buy gasoline from the very Indian refiners it once supplied with discounted crude. The barrel that sailed from Russia to India at a discount is sailing back as refined product at a premium — propelled through the supply chain by drones built from components Russia cannot manufacture itself. Energy independence is a story a producer tells itself until its own refineries burn. The dedollarized trade route now runs in both directions.
